Custom Order Agreement & Disclaimer

By placing a custom or personalized order with Okra Jean (okrajean.com), you ("Customer") agree to the following terms. This agreement applies to all custom embroidery, monogramming, personalization, made-to-order, or any personalized items. Standard/stock items follow our general shop policies.

Handmade & Custom Nature – No Returns or Exchanges on Custom/Personalized Items

All Okra Jean products are handcrafted by artisans using natural materials such as leather and waxed canvas. Due to the handmade process and natural materials, slight variations in appearance, stitching, hardware, and dimensions are normal and expected. Custom and personalized items are final sale. There are no returns, exchanges, refunds, or cancellations once production begins (including after any proof approval) or upon order confirmation, except in cases of our proven manufacturing error (e.g., we failed to follow your exact instructions).

Natural Leather: Origin, Characteristics, Variations & Sustainability

Our leather goods are crafted from genuine, organic leather sourced from once-living animals—primarily cattle, bison, alligator, and other hides that are a natural byproduct of the food and agriculture industries. This repurposes materials that would otherwise be discarded, supporting resource efficiency.

Sustainability note: Genuine leather is highly durable and long-lasting (often heirloom-quality), meaning fewer replacements over time compared to many synthetic alternatives. It is biodegradable at the end of its life, breaking down naturally rather than contributing to long-term plastic waste. By choosing quality leather pieces like ours, you're investing in timeless items that reduce overall environmental footprint through longevity and waste reduction.

If any synthetic 'hides' or alternative materials (e.g., PU, PVC, or plant-based options) are used in a product, they will be clearly noted in the individual product description—our standard offerings use only genuine leather and natural canvas.

Leather's natural beauty comes from its organic origins: variations in color, tone, grain, texture, and shading are normal and celebrated as features that give each piece unique character—not defects.

Photos and descriptions on okrajean.com represent the best possible representation of the item and color as shown under standard lighting/conditions. Actual items may vary slightly from photos due to screen settings, batch differences, or natural hide characteristics.

Minor natural blemishes or marks—such as bug bites, barbed wire scratches, healed scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, or other surface imperfections—may be present. These are authentic signs of genuine leather and do not impact the functionality, durability, or intended use of the product. They are not considered defects and are not grounds for return, exchange, refund, or complaint. Embracing these characteristics is part of owning a truly one-of-a-kind, heirloom-quality piece.

Personalization & Customer Responsibility

For custom embroidery, text, monogramming, logos, placement, or other personalization: You are fully responsible for providing accurate details (spelling, punctuation, capitalization, font/style, placement, design files, etc.).

We produce exactly as specified in your order or approved proof. We are not liable for errors, dissatisfaction, or issues resulting from incorrect, unclear, or customer-provided information.

If we provide a digital proof/mockup, your approval (via email, message, or checkout) confirms acceptance of the design as shown. Changes after approval may incur fees or delays.

Order Process, Deposits & Timelines

Custom orders often require a non-refundable deposit (e.g., 30–50% or as specified) to cover materials and secure production. Deposits are non-refundable once work or material ordering begins.

Production timelines are estimates only (typically 4–8 weeks or as quoted). Delays from material shortages, volume, or other factors do not allow cancellation or refunds.

Liability & General Limitations

Okra Jean's total liability is limited to the purchase price of the item. We are not responsible for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. Products are for normal use; misuse or failure to follow care guidelines voids claims.

Care & Use

Leather and canvas require proper care (e.g., conditioning, avoiding excessive water for non-waxed items). Improper care may cause damage not covered by us.

Governing Law and Disputes

This agreement and any disputes arising from or related to your purchase, the products, or these terms shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any legal action or proceeding related to this agreement shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Shipping & Delivery

As of now, Okra Jean ships only within the continental United States (48 contiguous states; excludes Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories). We do not currently ship internationally or to non-continental U.S. locations. Shipping costs, carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS), and estimated delivery times are calculated at checkout and displayed before payment. We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs (if applicable in future), or force majeure events. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon handover to the carrier.
