Welcome to Okra Jean. These Shop Policies apply to all purchases from okrajean.com, including standard/stock items. Custom or personalized orders are governed by our separate Custom Order Agreement & Disclaimer (required at custom checkout). By placing an order, you agree to these policies.

1. Products & Descriptions

All Okra Jean items are handcrafted using genuine leather, waxed canvas, and other natural materials. Due to the handmade and natural nature:

• Slight variations in color, texture, stitching, and dimensions are normal.
• Photos represent the best possible depiction under standard conditions; actual items may vary slightly.
• For details on leather origins, characteristics, variations, and sustainability, see our Custom Order Agreement (Section 2: Natural Leather).
• If any synthetic or alternative materials are used, they are clearly noted in the individual product description.

2. Pricing & Payments

• Prices are in USD and include any applicable sales tax at checkout (based on Louisiana rules; we collect/remit as required).
• We accept major credit/debit cards, PayPal, or other methods shown at checkout.
• Payment is due in full at time of order (or deposit for custom orders).
• We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and cancel orders if needed.

3. Shipping & Delivery

Okra Jean ships only within the continental United States (48 contiguous states; excludes Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories like Puerto Rico, and international destinations). We do not ship to these areas at this time.

• Processing Time: Stock items ship within 3–5 business days. Custom orders follow production timelines in the Custom Order Agreement (typically 4–8 weeks).
• Shipping Rates: Calculated at checkout based on weight, size, and destination (via USPS Priority Mail, UPS, or similar carriers for best value/speed).
• Free Shipping: Offered during special promotional periods and may be offered on select custom items (noted on product pages or at checkout when applicable).
• Estimated Delivery: 3–7 business days for most domestic orders after shipping (carrier-dependent; weekends/holidays may extend).
• Tracking: Provided via email once shipped.
• Risk of Loss: Title and risk pass to you upon handover to the carrier. We are not liable for carrier delays, loss, or damage—file claims directly with the carrier (we'll assist with documentation).

We reserve the right to change carriers or policies.

4. Returns, Exchanges & Refunds (Non-Custom/Stock Items Only)

Custom and personalized items are final sale—see Custom Order Agreement for no returns/exchanges.

For non-custom/stock items:

• Returns accepted within 14 days of delivery if the item is unused, in original condition, with tags/packaging intact.
• Contact us first for approval and return instructions.
• Buyer pays return shipping (unless defective/damaged on arrival).
• Refunds issued to original payment method (minus original shipping fees) once we receive and inspect the item.
• Exchanges may be possible for size/color issues (subject to availability; contact us).
• No returns for change of mind on personalized/custom items, or if item shows wear/misuse.
• Defective/damaged items: Notify within 7 days of receipt for resolution (replacement, repair, or refund at our discretion).

5. Order Cancellations

• Stock orders may be canceled within 24 hours if not yet processed (contact us immediately).
• Custom orders: Non-cancellable once deposit paid or production started (per Custom Order Agreement).

6. Care Instructions

Leather and canvas goods require proper care to maintain quality (e.g., condition leather periodically, avoid excessive water on non-waxed items, store properly). Failure to follow care may void any claims.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Okra Jean's liability is limited to the purchase price. We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

8. Governing Law and Disputes

These policies and any related disputes are governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

9. Privacy & Data

We respect your privacy and take data security seriously. We collect only the information necessary to process your order and communicate with you (e.g., name, shipping address, email, and payment details).

• We do not store credit card or payment information on our servers—all payments are securely processed through a verified third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, or similar secure gateway) that complies with industry standards like PCI DSS.
• We use cookies and similar technologies on okrajean.com to enhance your experience (e.g., remembering cart contents, site preferences, or basic analytics). By continuing to use our website, you consent to our use of cookies as described here. You can manage or disable cookies at any time through your browser settings (note that disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality, such as checkout).
